Pricing
What this costs, and how you will know before you commit.
No hourly billing, no open-ended retainers, and no number that arrives as a surprise. Here is exactly how pricing works and what moves it up or down.
Three ways this works
Free, fixed, or flat monthly.
The intro call
A 30-minute call to understand your business and see whether we are a fit. No cost, no obligation, and no audit disguised as a sales call.
Free
One-off jobs
A website, a set of pages, a plan, a rewrite. Scoped and quoted as a single fixed price, agreed in writing before any work starts.
Fixed price, agreed up front
Ongoing help
Regular writing, publishing, or steady improvement over months. A flat monthly fee for an agreed amount of work, cancellable with notice.
Flat monthly fee
What moves the number
What actually changes the price.
We would rather explain this than have you guess. Four things genuinely move a quote, and none of them are hidden.
Makes it smaller
- You already have decent material we can build on
- The problem is narrow and well understood
- You can supply text, photos or information yourself
- One round of changes rather than several
Makes it bigger
- Starting from nothing, with no existing material
- Several audiences or services that each need their own pages
- Research or interviews before anything can be written
- A hard deadline that compresses the work
No surprises
What you will never be charged for.
- The intro call
- The time we spend scoping and preparing your quote
- Emails and calls while a job is running — they are part of the price, not an extra
- Fixing anything we got wrong
- Any work that was not agreed in writing first
How a quote happens
Four steps to a number.
01
The intro call
Thirty minutes on your business. Free, and no commitment either way.
02
A written scope
What we would do, what is included, what is not, and the price. On one page.
03
You decide
Take it, change it, or leave it. There is no follow-up sequence and no chasing.
04
Work starts
At the agreed price. If the job grows, we agree that in writing too, before it happens.
Why not hourly
Hourly billing rewards the wrong thing.
If we bill by the hour, taking longer earns us more and you can never plan. A fixed price puts the risk on us, where it belongs: if the job takes longer than we thought, that is our problem, not your invoice. It also means you can say yes without wondering what the final number will be.
Want a number for your situation?
The call is where it starts. Thirty minutes, free. If we can help, a short written scope and a fixed price follow.
