Paid search and paid social

The fastest way to find out whether people are already looking for what you sell, and to be in front of them when they are. Run properly, it is also the cheapest research you will ever buy.

You might need this if

  • You need enquiries sooner than search or content can deliver them
  • You have run ads before and could not tell whether they worked
  • Someone runs your ads and the reporting explains nothing
  • You are launching and have no audience yet

What the work involves

What you actually get.

Scoped and written down before anything starts, so what is included and what is not is never a matter of memory.

  • Campaigns built around the searches that signal buying intent, not traffic
  • Budget spent where it returns and cut where it does not, week by week
  • Conversion tracking that actually fires, so the numbers mean something
  • A monthly read in plain English: spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry, what changes next

How it runs

Four stages, every time.

The shape is the same on every engagement. The specifics are set on the call and agreed in writing.

Stage 01

Work out what a customer is worth

Before a pound is spent we agree what an enquiry and a customer are actually worth to you. Everything after that is arithmetic rather than opinion.

Stage 02

Build for intent, not traffic

Campaigns structured around the searches that mean somebody is ready to buy, with the rest deliberately excluded before it can spend anything.

Stage 03

Make the tracking true

Conversion tracking, call tracking and exclusions set up properly. A campaign you cannot measure is a campaign nobody can improve.

Stage 04

Run it weekly, report monthly

Bids, budgets, negatives and creative reviewed every week. One monthly page in plain English: spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry, what changes next.

Who this usually suits

Where this one earns its place.

Real estate agents

Your marketing is indistinguishable from every other agent nearby.

Insurance agents

Compliance limits your claims, so everyone sounds identical.

Small service firms

A long decision that goes quiet and you never learn why.

Product and retail shops

Traffic arrives and does not buy.

How we work

We will not sell you what will not work.

Plenty of marketing gets sold because it is easy to sell, not because it will change anything. We would rather scope the work that actually moves your numbers — sometimes that is narrower than you expected, and sometimes it is a good deal bigger. Either way you hear the reasoning before you hear the price, and nothing begins until both are in writing.

Working together

Results need room to happen.

Work that moves a number needs three things: enough scope to fix the cause rather than the symptom, enough control to actually make the changes, and enough time for them to compound. We are straight about that before anything is agreed, because marketing that is second-guessed line by line does not produce results for anyone. If that is not the arrangement you are looking for, far better we both find out on the first call.

What an engagement assumes

  • A written scope, so what is in and what is out is never a matter of memory
  • The access and authority to make the changes the plan depends on
  • A realistic run of time before the work is judged
  • One agreed number that tells us both whether it is working
