Marketing for non-profit organisations

Who we help

Marketing for non-profit organisations

Genuinely important work that is hard to explain quickly to the people funding it. One clear explanation, used everywhere, is worth more than a campaign.

Sound familiar?

  • You explain the work differently every time you are asked
  • Funders and beneficiaries need different things from the same site
  • Reporting to donors takes days you do not have
  • Small team, no marketing person, and the work does not pause

How we would approach it

A plan shaped for your situation, not a package.

What follows is the shape the work usually takes for a business like yours. The specifics are set on the call, and written down before anything starts.

01

One explanation that holds up

What you do, for whom, and why it works, in a form that survives being repeated by a volunteer, a trustee and a funder without drifting.

02

A site that serves both audiences

Someone seeking help and someone considering a grant need different paths. One site, two clear routes, neither compromised.

03

Found by the people looking for help

Being present for the searches people make at the moment they need you, which is also what funders check before they give.

04

Reporting and follow-up that runs itself

Donor updates, impact numbers and acknowledgements assembled by a system, so the team stays on the work rather than the paperwork.

Where we would start

The first three, in this order.

Getting found

Getting found

Be found at the point of need.

How we work

We will not sell you what will not work.

Plenty of marketing gets sold because it is easy to sell, not because it will change anything. We would rather scope the work that actually moves your numbers — sometimes that is narrower than you expected, and sometimes it is a good deal bigger. Either way you hear the reasoning before you hear the price, and nothing begins until both are in writing.

Working together

Results need room to happen.

Work that moves a number needs three things: enough scope to fix the cause rather than the symptom, enough control to actually make the changes, and enough time for them to compound. We are straight about that before anything is agreed, because marketing that is second-guessed line by line does not produce results for anyone. If that is not the arrangement you are looking for, far better we both find out on the first call.

What an engagement assumes

  • A written scope, so what is in and what is out is never a matter of memory
  • The access and authority to make the changes the plan depends on
  • A realistic run of time before the work is judged
  • One agreed number that tells us both whether it is working

Is this your situation?

Tell us what is not working. Thirty minutes is usually enough for us both to know whether we can help.
